The visual study should be an exploration of techniques, styles and visual elements used in the work of Jeffrey Smart.
Students investigate the artist, Jeffrey Smart, using the key items as a framework for the study.
The Visual Study must include Part 1 and Part 2
PART 1: FOLDER
Students are required to produce a folder of developmental work 10 x A3 pages, analysing the techniques of Smart as a starting point.
1. In depth study of Jeffery Smart (750 words)
N.B. It is vital you understand the severity of plagiarism (if in doubt consult your planner).
2. A minimum of 10 thumbnail sketches and support material for your product with annotations
3. A minimum of 3 annotated refined colour roughs.
PART 2: PRODUCT
The product should be of an urban landscape that reflects a technical understanding of the techniques employed by Jeffrey Smart. Your painting will be a resolved painting on a 10”x12” canvas board, or negotiated in another medium and size as appropriate.
