Students learn/demonstrate how to: - Draw from observation - Use charcoal and apply tone - Inquires into the purpose of artworks - Draw objects in proportion - Understand that a still life is a composed of non living ornaments - Mastery of technique of printmaking - Understand concept of repetition, space and shape - Use suitable colour representation
- Class discussion: “what is a composition?” “What is a still life?” - Show examples of a still life - Students arrange themselves around the still life. Using charcoal, sketch lightly what they can see – discuss/demonstrate proportions and basic shapes - Students are to create a paper collograph
which displays a simple pattern and shape which is illustrated in their still
life drawing. - Students will be introduced to printmaking techniques and its place in the
Art world. Demonstrate to students what shapes can be used to create an
interesting pattern through repetition.
